Leap Doodle

Pulling drawings out of thin air

In an Interactive Systems Design class at RMIT University, I'd learned to build a simple interactive programme through Max MSP. Centring the use of Leap Motion, I created an intuitive motion-sensored drawing programme that would allow users to draw in the air with their hands. While this programme may appeal to a diverse range of users, the genesis of it was inspired by watching my late dad rely on communicating through drawings and writing after surviving his stroke. Due to being paraplegic on his dominant side, holding a pen and paper for writing became difficult. While the outcome of this project remains a rough prototype, technology such as this would greatly benefit users with limited mobility in accessing the simple joys of expressing themselves through writing and drawing.
